june 27, 2011  — ORA working with the Dart Group to design new Cayman Island roadway

The Cayman government and a private developer (the Dart Group) have signed an agreement to stimulate the economy by improving the roadway infrastructure and solve the island's landfill problems.  The new roadway will increase the capacity to and from the District of West Bay.  In addition, the Dart Group plans to provide a mega development on recently purchased land on the West Bay section of the island.  All together the Dart Group is committed to investing $415 million on the island over the next five years.

ORA has been working with the Dart Group on traffic related projects since 2009.  Some of the work includes developing pedestrian friendly facilities at various key intersections that links the Camana Bay properties.  ORA has entered into an agreement with the Dart Group to design a 2-mile extension of the Esterley Tibbetts Highway and improve two other roadways, as part of Dart's agreement with the CIG.
