Mulberry Street Drainage and Sidewalk Project

Orth-Rodgers & Associates, Inc. (ORA), was contracted by the Delaware Department of Transportation for a 3-year Open End agreement to provide design services for Transportation Enhancement Projects throughout the state of Delaware. The Transportation Enhancement (TE) Program allows for Towns, Legislators, Counties and Civic Groups throughout the state to complete transportation related projects that they otherwise would not be able to fund.  DelDOT relied on ORA to develop a Scope of Work, cost estimates, concept plans, construction plans and construction administration. Concept plans were developed with input from the community leaders and DelDOT. 

As part of our Transportation Enhancement Contract, ORA prepared semi-final and final construction plans and right of way plans for the sidewalk and drainage improvement project along Mulberry Street in the town of Milton, DE.  The project includes over 1/5 mile of sidewalk, full depth paving and an extensive drainage system through a residential area and school zone. Coordination was done with the Town of Milton, Utility companies, DelDOT’s South District as well as developers with plans in the area. Temporary Construction Easements, and Permanent Easements were required throughout the project. PS&E was completed in June of 2005 and construction was completed in 2006. 

ORA provided construction administration services during construction and this project won the DelDOT Outstanding Project Award for 2006!
