The Mon Fayette Expressway Project

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission’s Mon Fayette Expressway Project from PA Route 51 in Jefferson Hills in southeastern Allegheny County to two interchanges with the Parkway East (I-376). This project will impact several communities. During the preliminary engineering phase, the formation of Design Advisory Teams (DAT) was necessary due to the widespread interest by a number of project stakeholders and the Turnpike Commission’s desire to work with stakeholders to address community cohesion and other impacts. ORA is on the Turtle Creek Section as a sub-consultant to Amman Whitney to assist with several design tasks, and also as a Technical Team Representative to the Turtle Creek DAT. As such, ORA’s responsibilities involve presenting detailed information which updates the DAT on a monthly basis regarding design changes and engineering decisions that directly impact the Borough of Turtle Creek.
